Drink from the sources of life.
The Bible, the liturgy, the virtues of faith, hope, and love, and everyday events are sources of prayer. The Word of God provides the language; the liturgy places us within the Church's prayer; and life provides the real material for encountering God.
All paths of Christian prayer lead to the Father through Jesus. We pray in the Holy Spirit and may ask Mary, and the saints for intercession, but these are not substitutes for God.
No one learns entirely on their own.
Family members, ministers, consecrated persons, catechists, prayer groups, and spiritual companions can help with discernment. Suitable places for prayer may include church, a prayer corner at home, or a quiet place.
What is nourishing my prayer life? Am I relying on fleeting inspiration?
Set up a simple prayer corner with a Bible and appropriate symbols. Choose a short but fixed time to use that space.
Lord, lead me to sources of purity and people who can help me grow in truth.
