The Holy Spirit prays within us.
The Holy Spirit gives life and prayer to the Church. He reminds us of Jesus, unites the community, transforms hearts, and helps us when we don't know how to pray.
Praise and worship acknowledge God as Lord; pray, present your needs and ask for forgiveness; intercede, bringing others before God; give thanks, recognizing gifts; praise and love God for who He is.
The Church's prayer extends beyond individual needs.
In the liturgy, the faithful pray to the entire Body of Christ for the Church and the world. This intercession helps open our hearts to strangers, adversaries, and sufferings we do not directly witness.
Is my prayer focusing too much on one form and neglecting another?
Use five fingers to remember the five directions for prayer. Each day, choose a different direction and write a short prayer.
Holy Spirit, expand my prayer so that I may know how to worship, give thanks, and bring the needs of the world before You.
