The Holy Spirit makes Christ present.
The Holy Spirit prepares people to receive Christ, reminds them of His word, bestows gifts, and makes the sacraments fruitful. He is the principle of life, unity, and the mission of the Church.
Signs and instruments of unity
The Church originates from the Trinitarian plan and is sent forth to gather humanity. The Church is one because it has one source and one faith; holy because Christ sanctifies it; catholic because it brings the entire Gospel to all people; and apostolic because it is built on the foundation of the Apostles.
The laity, ordained ministers, and consecrated persons serve in different ways but share the dignity of Baptism and the mission of sanctifying the world.
Suggested reading: 1 Corinthians 12:4-27. A Spirit bestows many gifts to build up a body.
Is my personal kindness serving the common good or merely highlighting my own importance?
