Trust is about entrusting yourself to others.

Faith is a gift of God and also a free act of humankind. Believing is not merely knowing certain things that are true, but trusting in God and accepting His revelation.

Key point

Faith has both a personal and a communal dimension: I believe, but I receive my faith from the Church, profess it with the Church, and have the responsibility to pass it on.

The Creed is a map of faith.

The Creed encapsulates fundamental truths surrounding God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. When we recite the Creed, we are not reading a dry list, but rather reaffirming the identity and direction of Christian life.

Reflection

Which aspects of the Creed give me hope? Which ones do I need to study more deeply?

Practice

Read the Creed slowly. After each statement, pause and describe in a short sentence how that statement has changed your way of life.

Prayer

Lord, strengthen my small faith and help me live up to what I profess.
