Love lasts until the end.
Jesus willingly gave his life in loving obedience to the Father and in solidarity with humanity. His death was a sacrifice of reconciliation, not because the Father desired suffering, but because of love that penetrated to the very consequences of sin to bring about salvation.
He has come back to life.
The resurrection is a real and transcendent event. Living with Jesus, who was crucified, now means experiencing a new state; the empty tomb and the appearances are signs for the disciples to recognize.
The resurrection confirms the identity and teachings of Jesus, frees us from sin, opens up new life, and guarantees the hope of the physical resurrection.
