The work of the Holy Trinity
In the liturgy, God the Father is praised for the plan of salvation; Christ is present and active through the Paschal mystery; the Holy Spirit prepares the community, making the saving event present and fruitful.
Liturgy is not merely the community's remembrance of the past. It is a true participation, through sacramental signs, in the unique saving action of Christ.
Christ is present among the community.
The Lord is present in the minister, in the proclaimed Word, in the praying community, and especially under the forms of the Eucharistic bread and wine. Therefore, participation in the liturgy requires both outward action and inner union.
Suggested reading: Luke 22:14-20. At the Last Supper, Jesus gave his Body and Blood and instructed his disciples to celebrate it in remembrance of him.

Before the next Mass, read the readings in advance and arrive a few minutes early to prepare for the silence.
