Called back after Baptism
Baptized persons can still sin and harm communion. Christ gives the Sacrament of Reconciliation so that sinners may encounter mercy, receive forgiveness, and be reconciled with the Church.
The penitent's actions include repentance, confessing the sins they remember after a sincere examination of their conscience, and resolving to make amends. The priest, in the name of Christ, grants absolution.
Conversion is changing one's way of life.
Repentance is not about self-hatred, but about seeing the truth in the light of God's love. Atonement does not buy forgiveness; it is a step towards healing the consequences and learning to live a new life.
