Truth builds trust.
God is the source of truth; disciples are called to live truthfully in word and deed. Lying, intended to deceive, hurts others, oneself, and the foundation of the community.
Not everyone has the right to know all the information. Respecting secrets, honor, and privacy may require silence or cautious responses, but it does not permit the use of deception to cause harm.
Responsibilities when posting and sharing
Slander is making false accusations; gossip is revealing a real fault without justifiable reason; and rash judgment is drawing a negative conclusion without sufficient evidence. The digital environment makes these damages widespread and difficult to reverse.
Before sharing, check the source, date, context, and purpose. Edited images or AI-generated content also need to be published appropriately when they could be misinterpreted.
Have I ever shared anything that was shocking or resonated with me without verifying it? Who might have been affected?
Apply four questions before posting: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it fair? Does it express charity? Correct or remove any incorrect content if necessary.
